Virtual Art Inc. is an IT development company incorporated in the Province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. We have been in existence for ten years and started out as a single proprietorship and became incorporated in 1998.

Our Company is committed to providing a high level of service to our clients and the general public. Our main focus is in education through entertainment, using current and emerging technologies to produce interactive projects which hold the user's attention while presenting the subject matter in new and innovative ways.

Our Philosophy on New Media

We do not believe in using newer technologies in IT without a reason. For example using Flash for the sake of using Flash. Flash should be used for games and quizzes or for animation that has a point. You should not load a large Flash animation on the front end of a website without giving the user the choice to view it or continue on to the content. People using lower bandwidths will probably miss the whole site because of this. If you incorporate sound in your presentations, give the user a way to turn it down or off. Do not integrate Flash and html in an ecommerce environment. The whole point of an ecommerce site is to make it easy for the customer to buy your product. Using Flash to showcase a product or service is great as long as the ecommerce component is not dependent on the Flash. This paragraph uses Flash as an example however you can substitute the word Flash for almost any technology that requires a plugin.

We believe in making it easy to get at the actual content on a site with user friendly navigation and site branding. We continue to provide clients with tools that compliment their specific needs in the emerging global IT economy, on time and at a reasonable price.

Where We Work

We have a small studio on the north shore of beautiful Prince Edward Island. Everyday we see Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, Silver Foxes and many other types of birds and mammals that live around Tracadie Bay. We believe this is a very creative environment which helps foster new ideas in our work. Although we choose not to be located in a major center we find that more work is coming from other parts of North America. In the past we have developed sites for car dealers in the U.S., the Dental Laboratory Alliance from Calgary, Kitanga Dog Sledding Adventures from B.C., Canadian Agricultural Safety Association headquartered in Saskatchewan, World Aids Conference from the University of Windsor, Racquetball Canada from B.C., video, music and Flash for N.B. Tel's Vibe High Speed Service, and the list goes on. Some of these sites are still accessible from our Portfolio section. With today's communications networks, toll free numbers, video conferencing we believe that we can offer superior service almost anywhere in the world. We also believe in supporting charities and worthwhile endeavors in the community.

Small is Beautiful

With a small business such as Virtual Art Inc. we feel that you get superior service. Every client is extremely important and deserves our full attention. We also have lower overhead than larger companies and are able to pass the savings along to our customers. Just because we are small does not mean that we cannot handle larger projects and bring them in on time. We meet deadlines with no hidden costs. We have an excellent support staff and a network of other small reputable companies which allow us to be competitive on very large projects. Some of the larger projects we have developed can be accessed from the portfolio section. Our business hours are not limited to nine to five and we do what we do because we love the work.

A Word About Art Virtual

We hope you enjoy our new site which, graphically is of a slightly whimsical nature. Art Virtual is the result of telemarketers who phone our business looking for Art or Mr. Virtual or Mr. Art Virtual. The cat actually exists and is named Humbucker. The frog is a larger representation of one of the many Spring Peepers who reside on Tracadie Bay.
